The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E is currently ranked as one of the most highly regarded electrified vehicles, as more than 90% of previous owners stated that they would recommend the EV crossover to others. Ford recently announced it sold 27,140 Mach-E vehicles last year, closing the first year of the model’s sales.
Following this announcement, FoMoCo stated that 100% of the production capacity at its Ford Cuautitlan Assembly Plant Mexico would be dedicated to the EV crossover to meet unexpectedly high demand. This will allow FoMoCo to increase production to 200,000 units annually by 2023.
Jim Farley, Ford CEO, also announced that the automaker will increase its annual EV production to 600,000 units by 2024. In partnership with the Biden administration, the goal is for electric vehicles to account for 40% of global sales. Additionally, Ford plans to double its F-150 Lightning production to 150,000 units in mid-2023.
